Homeschool (not YouLearn)

Homeschooler Registration 

Parents/guardians do not have to register their children in YouLearn or any other school. However, they must register them with the Ministry of Education and Child Care each year. To do so, call our office or simply select "Home School Registration" as the first item on your online registration form and complete the form. 

Reminder: all home school students are required to register as homeschoolers through a school of their choice by September 30 each year according to the School Act.

  • Appendix 2: Non School-based Supports for Children and Youth provides supplementary information on non school-based supports available to children and youth (including registered homeschoolers) through other ministries. This appendix supports the clarifications already contained within the Manual. Please circulate it to homeschooling leads and as required.
